1. Overview

AppZano software is licensed, not sold. When you purchase or otherwise obtain an AppZano product, you receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use that product in accordance with the applicable licence.

This Licensing Policy explains the general licensing rules that apply to AppZano software. A particular product may contain additional licensing terms, and those terms take precedence where they expressly differ from this policy.

2. Your licence

Subject to payment of any applicable fees and compliance with the applicable terms, AppZano grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the licensed software for its intended purpose.

Your licence does not transfer ownership of the software or any underlying intellectual property to you.

Unless a product or licence explicitly states otherwise, your licence is intended for the individual, organisation, or entity that purchased it and may not be resold, sublicensed, or transferred to another party.

3. Activation

Some AppZano products require activation before they can be used. Activation may be performed using an AppZano account, licence key, licence file, or another activation mechanism provided with the product.

Where a product supports offline or local activation, an internet connection may not be required for normal use after successful activation.

Activation mechanisms exist to validate legitimate licences and help prevent unauthorised distribution or use of AppZano software.

4. Number of installations

The number of devices or installations permitted under a licence depends on the product and licence purchased.

Where a licence specifies a particular number of installations, devices, users, or seats, you must not exceed that allowance.

You may move a licence to another compatible device where the applicable product permits it, provided that the previous installation is no longer being used in a manner that exceeds the licence allowance.

5. Personal and business use

Unless a product explicitly restricts its use, an individual licence may be used for the permitted personal or professional purposes of the licensed user.

Business, agency, team, or client-facing use may require a specific business or agency licence depending on the product.

6. Agency licences

Certain AppZano products may offer an agency or client licence. Where purchased, an agency licence may permit the licensed agency to install the applicable product for an unlimited number of its clients, subject to the specific terms of that licence.

An agency licence does not transfer ownership of the software to the agency's clients. The agency remains responsible for ensuring that installations are used within the scope of the licence.

An agency licence may also provide access to a central dashboard or other tooling for managing installations, licences, updates, or clients where such functionality is offered by the product.

7. Subscriptions

Some AppZano products or services may be provided under a subscription rather than a perpetual licence.

A subscription may provide access to software, updates, online services, support, cloud functionality, or other benefits for the duration of the subscription.

If a subscription is cancelled, the specific product terms will determine what functionality remains available after the subscription ends.

Unless a product explicitly states otherwise, cancellation does not grant a refund for a period that has already been used or otherwise entitle the user to continued subscription services beyond the applicable paid period.

8. Updates and support

A licence may include access to software updates and support for a defined period, depending on the product and licence purchased.

Where an AppZano product permits continued use after cancellation or expiry of an associated subscription, the version already licensed may continue to function, but access to future updates, new versions, or support may end unless otherwise stated.

AppZano may publish security fixes or other critical updates outside the normal update entitlement where we consider it appropriate.

9. Licence files and keys

Licence keys, activation codes, licence files, and other credentials used to activate AppZano software must be kept secure.

You must not publicly distribute, sell, publish, or intentionally expose a licence key or activation credential where doing so would allow an unauthorised person to use the software.

If you believe that a licence credential has been compromised, contact AppZano so that we can determine whether the licence needs to be revoked or replaced.

10. Permitted use

You may use the software only within the scope of the applicable licence and for its intended functionality.

You may make reasonable backup copies of software where permitted by applicable law, provided that those copies are used only for legitimate backup or recovery purposes.

11. Restrictions

Unless expressly permitted by the applicable licence or required by law, you must not:

  • Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the software.
  • Share a personal licence with people who are not authorised users.
  • Circumvent or interfere with licence activation or validation mechanisms.
  • Remove or alter copyright, attribution, or proprietary notices.
  • Use the software to provide an unauthorised commercial service where the applicable licence does not permit it.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits such activity.

12. Intellectual property

AppZano and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the software, including its source code, object code, architecture, design, documentation, trademarks, and other intellectual property.

Except for the limited licence expressly granted to you, no rights are transferred to you by purchasing or using AppZano software.

13. Open-source components

AppZano products may contain open-source software distributed under third-party licences.

Those components remain subject to their respective open-source licence terms. Where applicable, notices and licence information for those components will be made available with the relevant product.

14. Licence termination

A licence may terminate if you materially breach the applicable licence terms and fail to remedy that breach where an opportunity to do so is required.

Upon termination, you must stop using the affected software and remove it from devices on which you are no longer entitled to use it.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that are intended to survive termination.

15. Licence verification

AppZano may verify licence status where necessary to administer licences, prevent fraud, protect intellectual property, or provide services associated with a licence.

Where technically possible and appropriate, licence verification is designed to minimise the amount of information transmitted from the application to AppZano.

16. Changes to licensing terms

We may update these licensing terms for future purchases, subscriptions, products, or versions. The terms applicable to an existing licence will not be changed retrospectively in a manner that materially reduces your existing rights unless required by law or otherwise agreed with you.

The date at the top of this page indicates when these licensing terms were most recently updated.
